Tibialis Anterior Tendonitis and Skiing

Is it alright to ski if I am overcoming tibialis anterior tendonitis and just sprained my ankle today?

I may have had a stress fracture in september and was later told i have tibialis anterior tendonitis that kept me from being allowed to run since august. im in the process of getting orthotics to get back to running fully again but im lightly running until the shipment comes in. today i hurt my ankle running and im icing it like crazy. i want to ski sooo badly this week but is that a bad idea?

  1. not smart.I would not ski as you may create a life long injury. I know it is hard to not be active, but be smart. Do you really want to have a life long injury. Let it heal. What would your doctor advise?

  2. You are Not Giving yourself Enough time to Heal Properly, you will most likely do yourself more Damage, which would take even Longer to Heal in the long run.

  3. Bad Idea. But you can ski if you want to stay off the leg another month or two afterward.

The snow should be around another 2 or 3 months.

  4. Well if u have to ask then it probably is. U need to rest your ankle to let it heal properly & use compressive support socks when u train to prevent reinjury.
