Does patellar tendonitis show in the MRI ?

I am having knee pain in the front the knee ,between the knee cap and the shin bone. My MRI is normal . Each doctor seems to differ on the diagonis . One says that tendonitis does not appear in the MRI unless there is a tear, and the other says it will appear in the MRI even if there is no tear .
